Kerkrade - The German victim of a fatal street robbery near the Roda stadium in Kerkrade on June 23, 2022, Fabian Esser (33), died as a car drove over his head. One of the robbers is still a fugitive.

On Tuesday, the only suspect arrested so far, Mateo Z. (48), appeared in court for the first time. The Italian-born man is suspected of qualified manslaughter. In this case, that is the theft of a suitcase containing 100,000 euros in cash.
