The Penitentiary Institution (PI) Haaglanden in Scheveningen consists of a Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC) and the Judicial Center for Somatic Care (JCvSZ). In addition, this location houses capacity on behalf of the International Tribunals and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

PI Haaglanden provides, as the only unit within DJI, physical care that cannot be provided in DJI's facilities at the 'low care' level. This takes place in the Judicial Center for Somatic Care (JCvSZ). PI Haaglanden also has a Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC). In addition, this location provides capacity for litigants on behalf of international tribunals including the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations (UN).
