Main suspect in De Heus murder case victim of robbery in Sittard (Limburger.nl)

Ronnie S. (50) of Sittard, prime suspect in the Andy de Heus murder case, was one of the victims of a robbery in Sittard in late March 2015.
The prosecution could not answer Wednesday whether there is a connection between the two cases.

Criminal case

Three armed men entered a home in the Overhoven neighborhood during the day in March 2015. That was where Ronnie S. lived at the time. As a result of that robbery, S. himself faced a criminal case.

This emerged Wednesday in the Maastricht District Court where S. was on trial for possession of MDMA, cocaine, amphetamine and soft drugs. The police found these drugs and two electric shock weapons in his house after the robbery. A patrol was on the scene within minutes after a local resident raised the alarm. The robbers had hit S. on the head so hard with a weapon that he had to be hospitalized. Investigators found the drugs and discovered that the house was illegally tapped. S. told the judges he was using the power for a Jacuzzi.

Simultaneous

Lawyer Serge Weening tried in vain to get the court to order that the criminal case be heard simultaneously with the case on the murder of Andy de Heus. By doing so, the criminal lawyer wanted to prevent the possible penalties against Ronnie S. from piling up. S. is currently serving the last part of a six-year German prison sentence in De Geerhorst in Sittard. The judges sentenced him there for transporting drugs.

Justice demanded six months in prison against S. for the Sittard case. Attorney Weening questioned the usefulness of a sentence in the Sittard case, in view of the Andy de Heus' trial. He asked the judge to impose half as much on S. as demanded.

The ruling is on July 10.
