Eindhoven organization linked to two Limburg meth labs (1limburg.nl)

Justice links a group of men to two busted drug labs in Baexem and Ittervoort. In the investigation into this group, police found one hundred liters of amphetamine oil, among other things.

This is according to information provided by L1 and confirmed by the judiciary.

Professional lab

In July, police dismantled a drug lab in Margarethastraat in Ittervoort. The lab was no longer in operation, but was professionally set up. For example, pipes ran deep into the garden to keep suspicious odors far out of olfactory range. However, no suspects were apprehended. According to police, it was only the second meth lab dismantled in our province.

Popular drug

Crystal meth, also called ice because of its structure, is a drug that has long been especially popular in the United States. Since 2019, investigative agencies have seen more and more meth labs in the Netherlands. The margins on xtc and speed have dropped, and therefore it seems more interesting for drug criminals in our country to turn to meth.

Link between labs

In that context, Sezer K. (27), Can K. (50), Adolf L. (41) and Ta L. (33) allegedly got into meth production. This Eindhoven foursome is currently in custody for involvement in a meth lab on the Beekkant in Baexem. The police raided it on Nov. 3 and found about a hundred liters of methamphetamine oil. An alleged 72 kilograms of (meth) amphetamine were also found, but the justice department cannot confirm that.

That same group, or at least part of it, is now also being linked to the lab in Ittervoort. "That's right," says a justice spokeswoman. "It is partly about the same suspects." Also in this case, the justice department is using EncroChat, the cracked chat service used by many criminals for mutual contact, as evidence.

Production of meth

Justice officially suspects the Eindhoven residents of "acts of preparation" and producing meth. The quartet will appear in court for the first time on February 17. This will not be a substantive trial; the judge will only consider the men's remand. Lawyers Gertjan Mooren and Serge Weening say little can be said about the case at this time. Their colleague Misja Geeratz could not be reached for comment.
