If killed Chinese still not going to China

The remains of the murdered Chinese woman found dead in a maize field in Nijswiller last October will probably not be transferred to China. The municipality of Gulpen-Wittem does not want to pay for the operation and wants to avoid precedent setting.
The College of B. and W. made this known last week through a letter to the Chinese Embassy. The latter had requested the municipality to repatriate the ashes of the body and bear the costs, because the family in China of the murdered woman does not have the money for it.

According to the municipal spokesman, the group chairmen of the political parties in Gulpen-Wittem did not like the proposal either. Earlier there was still talk of a possible contribution from the population of Nijswiller to the repatriation costs. These are estimated at roughly 3,750 euros, including exhumation and cremation. The college raised this with the parish, but it responded negatively. "We are not in favor of that," said Pastor Reijnen.
