The 29-year-old woman from Germany detained on suspicion of involvement in the death of her infant son in Vaals will remain in prison for the time being. The court in Maastricht extended the woman's remand by 14 days on Thursday.

The 3-year-old boy died under suspicious circumstances at a home in Vaals on April 17. According to the mother, she was in the basement while her new boyfriend was upstairs in the residence with the child. When she went back upstairs, she found the little boy dead at the bottom of the stairs.
