Mr. Weening in New twist in Limburg murder case (Telegraaf.nl)

ROERMOND - In the case surrounding Hessam Lajeverdi (23), who was stabbed to death in Roermond in 2011, there is talk of a new twist in the investigation now that suspect Samir S. has identified a new culprit who allegedly committed the murder. This emerged Tuesday, among other things, during an extensive reconstruction at the crime scene, a residential house on Bachstraat in Roermond.

Hessam Lajeverdi was killed on May 3, 2011, in front of his girlfriend's house by stabbing his neck with a kitchen knife. S., who has always denied during previous interrogations that he killed his ex's new partner, was sentenced by the court to 12 years in prison for murder, after which the court of appeal in Den Bosch added another year to that during the appeal.

The Supreme Court found that the court had inadequately reasoned that Samir S. killed his victim after calm deliberation and peaceful consultation and ruled that the criminal case must be transferred. S. has now stated that his ex-girlfriend allegedly administered the fatal stabbing. For the reconstruction at the residence early this morning, the current furniture was swapped with the furniture that was in the corner house at the time of the fatal stabbing.

A silent march was held for the murdered Hessam Lajeverdi in Roermond. When this case will be heard substantively is not known at this time.
