Overijssel District Court

The district of the District Court of Overijssel includes the following municipalities and is divided into 3 court locations. Enschede is only the district court for subdistrict cases. In this area, the court handles first instance cases, or cases that have not been before the court before.

The Overijssel District Court stands for good, timely and understandable justice and administers justice in Almelo, Enschede and Zwolle.

The District Court of Overijssel is the first authority in its district to give a legal opinion on a case or conflict. Thereafter, a litigant (for example, the convicted person or the Public Prosecution Service (om.nl)) may appeal to the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal.
