Maastricht - For years, Freddy L. (44), who lives at home, allegedly kicked and punched his elderly parents in Guttecoven, denied them food and appropriated their money. L. denies. As do his parents, even though father filed a police report. "Freddy didn't do anything and I want him to come home." These are the words of Freddy's father, written on a sheet of paper, read by Freddy's lawyer Stijn van Merm at the beginning of the first pro forma hearing in Maastricht. Although father filed charges against his son after his arrest, he is backtracking on those charges now that his son is on trial for physically abusing his parents, failing to provide for his parents and appropriating their money.
