The defendant is accused of being guilty, whether or not together with (an) other(s), of trafficking in human beings in relation to two drug couriers and inciting these couriers to bring quantities of cocaine into the territory of the Netherlands from Ecuador and/or inciting their attempts to do so. The court concludes that there were no circumstances in which exploitation of the drug couriers can be assumed. Nor has it been established that the defendant acted with the intention of exploitation. Therefore, on appeal, the defendant is acquitted of human trafficking. The court also acquits the accused of inciting the couriers to bring drugs into Dutch territory and inciting their attempts to do so.
