Suspect with concrete block released again (Limburger)
SPAUBEEK/SCHINNEN - The 22-year-old man from Schinnen arrested in Geleen on Sunday for allegedly having a stolen concrete block in his car was released yesterday. Police are investigating whether there is a link between the concrete found with the suspect and the Feb. 5 incident in which an unknown person threw a concrete block onto the A76 in Spaubeek. The car of an 18-year-old driver driving on the highway was struck by that concrete block and severely damaged. The man from Schinnen was arraigned yesterday at the magistrate's court, where justice demanded that the suspect be placed in custody.
However, the judge set the man free. Both the court and the prosecution do not want to explain why that happened. Also, the prosecution (OM) still does not want to reveal exactly what the 22-year-old is suspected of by the judiciary. According to an OM spokeswoman, the man remains a suspect.
