Hoogezand star not punished for shooting rapper Rel
GRONINGEN - The 27-year-old Jason B., who shot the Amsterdam rapper Rel in his home in Hoogezand late last year, will not receive a punishment for it.
The court in Groningen considers it proven that B. shot when the rapper, along with three friends, entered his home. However, he allegedly pulled the trigger in a panic, so he will not be prosecuted. Rel was taken to Amsterdam by friends after the shooting and laid on the doorstep of a hospital. He died of his injuries.
B. heard an 18-year prison sentence against him just two weeks ago. The prosecution will almost certainly appeal.
