Suspect admits murder of Jack Koker in letter (Limburger.nl)
Moussa O. (22), suspect in the murder of Maastricht resident Jack Koker, writes that he is the one who stabbed Koker to death on May 27, 2017. Greek-born Moussa O. made the confession in a letter found in his cell.
The letter was addressed to his girlfriend I.A. (29) who was also the prime suspect in the murder case. The also Greek I.A. was already released following the discovery in early July.
Koker was stabbed to death last year in his own home on the fifth floor of the ANWB flat on Koningsplein in Maastricht. The case allegedly revolved around cocaine.
Reconstruction
The letter containing the statement was found during a search of the cells of Moussa O. and I.A. Prosecutor David van Cuppeveld told the pro-forma hearing on August 1: "A reconstruction of the murder was planned. But we had the idea for some time to use the planned reconstruction also in another way to get closer to the truth and did expect that the two suspects would write to each other about the reconstruction."
So that planned construction never happened because the prosecution no longer sees any added value in it after the letter was found. This decision was made after consultation with the defense - the two lawyers of the suspects. "They too felt that a reconstruction was no longer necessary in response to letter."
Greek friend
Moussa O's Greek girlfriend, I.A., was arrested in Greece in April this year and surrendered to the Netherlands under EU agreements. This was because the prosecutor suspected that she and not Moussa O. had stabbed the Maastricht man Koker in his back. This suspicion arose after overhearing telephone conversations of Moussa O. in prison. He had said to his girlfriend I.A., "I am here for you, for you I will be released." With this, the murder case seemed to take a totally different turn.
Cocaine Deal
On the fatal night, the Greek couple were in Koker's apartment taking cocaine. When it came to paying, H., who was also previously a suspect in the case, went to get money with O.'s ATM card. There was too little money on it, after which H. left to try with A.'s card. At the time, Koker was allegedly murdered.
On Sept. 12, the next pro forma hearing of the murder case is scheduled. On Nov. 15 and 19 this year, the case will be heard in substance.
