MAASTRICHT - Chief prosecutor Roger Bos of the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) in Limburg regrets the "big words" used by one of his accusers during a January hearing in the Valkenburg vice case. Although Bos understands the firm language, he feels the language is not appropriate for the prosecutor's office, a justice spokeswoman confirmed Thursday reports in the Limburg newspapers.

"That it could affect their marriage or relationship, I'm not bothered by that," the case officer said at the hearing at the time. "These men had sex with a minor. I'm not going to help them keep that a secret."

Two suspects committed suicide after the publicity surrounding this case. Bos disputes a connection to the suicides in this case.

The court convicted a 21-year-old pimp and 21 clients in the case. Eight more must answer for paid sex with an underage girl last year in Valkenburg.

Bos said he had a "robust conversation" with the case officer. Because of these words, the publicity has become very big. At the same time, Bos also sees positive effects, the spokeswoman said. The social importance has become clear because of the publicity. For example, according to her, parents now talk more quickly with their children about this kind of thing, and landlords of rooms have become more careful.
