Dead Hoogezand turns out to be rapper Rel
AMSTERDAM - The man killed Sunday night in Hoogezand, Groningen, was an Amsterdam man known in the Bijlmer as rapper Rel. This was announced by his fellow rapper Rotjoch on Twitter yesterday. The host of hip-hop program (101Barz) on 101.tv wrote yesterday on the microblog site "My little brother REL and me in the Bijlmer chilling!!! I love you man! I'm gonna miss you sooo heavy! Rest soft!".The death of the Amsterdam native is still a mystery. According to the Amsterdam channel AT5, Sunday night the 26-year-old occupant of a house on the Annie M.G. Schmidthof in Hoogezand was robbed by four men, during which shots were allegedly fired.
Channel sources claim that the victim from Southeast with one gunshot wound was then taken by car to Amsterdam. There the man was allegedly left behind at AMC. Police confirmed that a man was left behind at AMC but could not confirm his identity yesterday.
