Moussa O. confesses apartment murder in letter to girlfriend (1Limburg.nl)

Main suspect Moussa O. confessed in a letter to his girlfriend that he was responsible for the death of Maastricht man Jack Koker.

This was revealed Wednesday in a pro forma hearing, reports De Limburger. Koker was stabbed in May last year in the ANWB flat on Koningsplein, where he lived.

Cells searched

The letter was found when the cells of O. and friend I.A. were searched. The woman was also the prime suspect in the case also known as the "flat murder," but was released after the epistle was found in early July. The woman was arrested earlier in April in Greece because the justice system suspected she had stabbed Koker.

Cocaine

Koker was found dead in the apartment on May 30, 2017, after local residents raised the alarm that he had been missing for several days. The couple had allegedly been in the apartment that night to use cocaine. A Maastricht man, H., was also present there.

Reconstruction

Prosecutor David van Cuppeveld says that a reconstruction of Koker's last hours was planned for tactical reasons, among others. "We had the idea for some time to use the planned reconstruction also in another way to get closer to the truth and did expect that the two suspects would write to each other about the reconstruction." After the letter was found, the reconstruction was called off.

The substantive hearing of the case will take place from Nov. 15 to 19. Another pro forma hearing is scheduled for Sept. 12.
