The Penitentiary Institution (PI) Haaglanden in Scheveningen consists of a Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC) and the Judicial Center for Somatic Care (JCvSZ). Additionally, this location houses capacity for the International Tribunals and the International Criminal Court (ICC).
PI Haaglanden, as the only unit within DJI, offers physical care that cannot be provided in DJI institutions at the “low care” level. This takes place in the Judicial Center for Somatic Care (JCvSZ). PI Haaglanden also has a Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC). Furthermore, this location provides capacity for detainees for international tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations (UN).
