The Penitentiary Institution (PI) South-East consists of the locations Roermond, Ter Peel in Evertsoord, and ZBBI Te Roer in Roermond.
The Roermond location, together with the Ter Peel location, forms the Penitentiary Institution (PI) South-East. Roermond is an institution for male detainees and has the following regimes:
- a Remand Center (HvB) with a capacity of 71 places;
- a prison with 119 places;
- an EZV (Extra Care Facility) with 12 places;
In addition, there are possible detention modalities, such as BPP (basic penitentiary program) and PP (penitentiary program).

Never make a statement to anyone from the police before consulting with a lawyer: not as a suspect and not as a witness either. This also applies when the police officer is not sitting at a computer. The police may write down everything you say, even when you’re not in an official interrogation situation.

- a Mother and Child House;
- a Very Limited Security Institution (ZBBI) “Flexcap” with 72 places (men);
