The Zeeland-West-Brabant Court has jurisdiction to administer justice in the first instance within the district. This means that the court is the first authority to give a legal judgment on a case or conflict. After that, a party to the proceedings (for example, the convicted person or the Public Prosecution Service (om.nl)) can appeal to the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal.

Never make a statement to anyone from the police before consulting with a lawyer: not as a suspect and not as a witness either. This also applies when the police officer is not sitting at a computer. The police may write down everything you say, even when you’re not in an official interrogation situation.
