The district (working area) of the Limburg Court covers the entire province of Limburg. You can find the relevant regions and municipalities on the Case Distribution page. There you will also find the case distribution regulations of the Limburg Court (officielebekendmakingen.nl), which states which cases are handled at which location.
The court has jurisdiction to administer justice in the first instance within its district. This means that the court is the first instance to give a legal judgment on a case or conflict. After that, a party to the proceedings can appeal. The appeal cases of the Limburg district are handled by the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal, the Central Appeals Tribunal (social security and civil servant cases) or the Council of State (other cases in the field of administrative law, with the exception of tax cases).
The Limburg Court has two (hearing) locations:
- Maastricht (also the seat of the court administration)
- Roermond

Our advice / tip
Never make a statement to anyone from the police before consulting with a lawyer: not as a suspect and not as a witness either. This also applies when the police officer is not sitting at a computer. The police may write down everything you say, even when you’re not in an official interrogation situation.
