The Penitentiary Institution (PI) Vught consists of one site of about 30 hectares.
PI Vught serves as a prison, Remand Center (HvB), Institution for Persistent Offenders (ISD), Extra Secure Institution (EBI), Terrorist Unit (TA), Problematic Behavior Detainees Unit (BPG), Long-term Forensic Psychiatric Care (LFPZ), Very Intensive Specialized Care (ZISZ), and a Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC). In total, there are nine different regimes housed.
Our advice / tip
Never make a statement to anyone from the police before consulting with a lawyer: not as a suspect and not as a witness either. This also applies when the police officer is not sitting at a computer. The police may write down everything you say, even when you’re not in an official interrogation situation.
