Money for death of L. family (Limburger)
SITTARD - There is 100,000 euros on the heads of the Sittard family L., suspected of two murders in Tudderen, Germany. The justice department states that.
The Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) speaks of "multiple threats, from multiple angles. The threats are directed against the five members of the L. family, but also against Ron van K., who lives in Belgium. They are suspected of two murders just across the Sittard border, in the German town of Tudderen. The corpses of the victims were dissolved in hydrochloric acid, according to the prosecution. The threats come, among others, from the relatives of the victim Mouhammed Al Jader, according to the criminal file.
When the threats were first made, the prosecution would not say. Michel L. was previously in "acute and real" mortal danger. Therefore, an arrest team was deployed earlier than planned to apprehend him. For that reason, father Hub and sister Rachelle were able to flee from the police. The prosecution actually wanted to arrest the family members at the same time. Hub and Rachelle are now without a trace, while Michel, Els and Maurice are detained. The latter includes Ron van K. "We decided to sacrifice Hub and Rachelle's arrest for Michel's life," said prosecutor Van Kuppeveld.
About those arrested, he says, "I think they will leave in the sunset if they are released in the interim. I can't blame them for that. We can't put our finger on it, but there is also a threat from Albanians that people are very afraid of." Statements to the police indicate that this could have to do with a failed drug deal by the L. family. Lawyer Peer Szymkowiak of Al Jader's next of kin says he knows nothing about threats from his clients. The relatives of the other victim, Alan Gergeri, are not aware of any threats, says their counselor Françoise Landerloo.
