El Jader blood in German 'murder house' (De Limburger)
SITTARD/TUDDEREN - In the Tudderen home of the Sittard family L. blood spatters of the murdered Mouhammed Al Jader from Schinveld have been found. Research by the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) revealed this, after traces were found during a search in April. This emerged during a pro forma hearing yesterday in the case against the L. family, which is suspected of two murders, of Iraqis Mouhammed Al Jader and Alan Gergeri. Mother Els L. and sons Maurice and Michel are in custody. A friend of the family, Ron vanK., is also a suspect.
The lawyers of the suspects expressed their concerns yesterday about providing the complete investigation file to the (lawyer of the) next of kin. This has already been done, but certainly when the suspects are going to cooperate in a psychiatric and psychological examination, objections arise. "These reports should not end up with others," lawyer Serge Weening of Maurice L. "If that is going to happen, then my client does not want to cooperate." The prosecutor referred to this as refusal and wanted the court to send Maurice and mother Els L., who also refused to cooperate in a personality test, to the Pieter Baan Center for observation. But the court did not go along with the officer's request. However, the judge did agree with Weening. "It is not the intention that the file, including personal information, should be forwarded indiscriminately to the injured party."
From Belgium, the place where the judiciary says the bodies of Al Jader and Gergeri were solved, several traces have yet to be handed over to the Netherlands. Some traces are not immediately available because investigations into some cases have already begun in Belgium. The German traces, mainly from the house in Tudderen, are in and some of them are already being examined by the NFI. Only some of the German interrogations still need to be translated.
Justice is still hunting for two fugitive suspects from the L. family, who have been missing since late last year. About the status of the search for father Hub and daughter Rachelle, the prosecutor's office makes no announcements.
