Six members of Satudarah remain in jail until start of criminal case (Limburger.nl)
The Limburg District Court ruled Wednesday that six of the 10 Satudarah members arrested in December and January must remain in jail until the start of their trial. That starts for most of the suspects on Dec. 10.
For three others, including President Stefan P., the hearing is scheduled from Jan. 10. Their cases have been split off because their lawyer Peer Szymkowiak is indisposed at the end of the year.
Cadres
On December 6, the Limburg police arrested Satudarah president Stefan P., Antony P., Emanuel P., Paul S. (all from Geleen) and Dave E. from Kerkrade. Justice sees them as the executives of the motorcycle club. They have been in custody ever since. Five co-defendants disappeared in prison in January. Two of them were released earlier.
A 27-year-old man from Geleen was told Wednesday that his pre-trial detention will be suspended. A co-defendant from Brunssum (42) will be allowed to return home in October due to family circumstances. The two allegedly only played a role in the extortion and deprivation of liberty on Dec. 1, 2017. On that day, the alleged victim was summoned to the clubhouse, Merpati community center in Geleen, for allegedly conning the motorcycle gang.
Extortion
President Stefan P. (42) of the Geleen chapter of Satudarah has four extortions and five other crimes on his record, according to the prosecution. The prosecutor's office (OM) accuses the leader of motorcycle club Satudarah in Geleen of being involved in the extortions of a total of five people in Geleen, Heerlen and Maasmechelen in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The prosecution further charges Stefan P. with participating in a criminal organization, violating the Opium Act, violating the Weapons and Ammunition Act and laundering criminal money. Police and prosecutors surreptitiously bugged and filmed 28 meetings of the motorcycle club in 2017.
