Police went to check on the house on Berkenlaan on the night of May 16, 2016, after a report from local residents about a person who had gone crazy. When officers arrived, the then 69-year-old resident stabbed one of them in the leg with a knife; the other three suffered cuts.
Attempted manslaughter
The reconstruction should show whether there was actually attempted manslaughter, as the charges state. The Bunden man stated earlier that he had blacked out and had no recollection of the entire incident. According to police, he was significantly under the influence of alcohol.
Reenacted
During the reconstruction, the officers involved and the suspect will recount exactly what they believe happened, after which that exasct will be reenacted. Because the incident occurred at night, the reconstruction next Thursday will also be held in the dark. Everything will also be filmed and others involved such as members of the court, the offcier of justice and the suspect's lawyer will be able to follow the reconstruction from a distance.
Public
The public will not be allowed to attend the reconstruction, which begins at five o'clock. Part of Birch Avenue will therefore also be closed Thursday afternoon.
