The Penitentiary Institution (PI) Alphen aan den Rijn consists of two locations. The Maatschapslaan location and the adjacent Eikenlaan location. <\/p>\n\n
The Eikenlaan location, together with the Maatschapslaan location, forms the penitentiary institution (PI) Alphen aan den Rijn.<\/p>\n\n
Until July 1, 2014, this location was used as a detention center for immigrant detention. The building has a total capacity of 1,014 places, of which a portion is not yet in use, partly due to renovations. In Penitentiary Institution (PI) Alphen aan den Rijn, Eikenlaan location, cells are designated for arrestees and, since 2015, also for remand prison. <\/p>\n\t\t
